What is the cow?

As part of an outreach effort for
Documentary "Homeless in a College Town"
Counterfeit Cow Productions worked hard to place
a statue that doubles as a piggy bank in downtown Amherst.

All proceeds go to "Craig's Doors" to support
Craig's Place emergency winter shelter in Amherst, MA
at the First Baptist Church.

Our producer Matt Duranti grew up in Amherst, MA
where he currently resides. He is as passionate as anyone
about the problems surrounding his hometown.

Construction  was completed in September 2013 by a local metal sculptor, and the location was donated to the Cow from The Carriage Shops in Amherst, MA right in front of The Loose Goose Cafe.

We are proud to provide a permanent public art and fundraising piece in Amherst that will be there forever, our way of having a long lasting impression on a community we care so much about.

With Homeless in a College Town we intend to make significant changes
in the community,  and broaden the scope of awareness
through our film to inspire other college communities to do the same.

College students can learn from our experiences, and apply those lessons into their prospective fields as the next generation of students graduate.
